Week Events
Going into
Grades 6-12 – 12:15-3pm each day
- Tuesday, July 4 – Hot Dog Lunch & Icebreaker Games - Hang out with your friends and make some new ones with games designed to help us get to know each other better! Lunch provided this day only (hot dogs, juice, chips and veggies). Bring: a signed Consent Waiver if you did not hand one in during the school year.
- Wednesday, July 5 – Choose Your Activity Day - Choice between field games at McLean Park or indoor arts and crafts projects. We will meet in the Youth Room to eat our lunches before splitting off for activities. Bring: lunch, water, sunscreen and running shoes if you choose field games; bring lunch and an old shirt or smock if you choose arts and crafts.
- Thursday, July 6 – Field Games - Meet in the youth room to eat your lunch before we head to McLean Park for lots of outdoor games – we have lots of great classic games and a few you probably haven’t played before! These games are great even if you aren’t that athletic. Bring: lunch, water, sunscreen, running shoes.
- Friday July 7 – Paint Wars!!! - Join us for a wacky afternoon of paint-based games at McLean Park! We use tempra paints that do wash out of hair and skin, but bring some old clothes (dark clothing works too) and a WHITE SHIRT that can get colourful. Paints generally wash out of clothing but may leave some residue depending on the fabric. Parents, we will hose your kids off outside before they go inside to change into a clean outfit to wear home. Bring: lunch, old shoes/shorts, WHITE SHIRT, towel, change of clothes, water and sunscreen. We provide plastic bags to take home wet/colourful clothing.

Monday July 10 – Games Night
Going into
Grades 6-12 – 7-9pm in the Youth Room
Join us for
board games and video games. We will be selling pop, chips and candy at concession
– proceeds go to our sponsor child.
Wednesday July 12 – Lynn Canyon
Going into Grades 6-12 – 10am-3pm – meet
at church office
Bring comfy
shoes, bathing suit and towel, lunch and water and join us for a day of
swimming and hiking. Limited spaces available – sign up no later than July 10.
Parent drivers needed.
Friday July 14 – Night Market
Going into
Grades 8-12 – 6pm-end time TBA – meet at church office
We are
heading to the Market for some evening food and fun – wear comfy shoes and
bring $3.75 admission and spending money. Limited spaces available – sign up no
later than July 12. Parent drivers needed (we will cover your admission fee).
Monday July 17 – Make Your Own Pizza Night
Going into Grades 6-12 – 5:30-8:30pm in
the Youth Room
Let’s make
dinner together! Come learn how to make pizza and choose your toppings. Board
and video games available after dinner. Please sign up no later than July 16 so
we can purchase enough ingredients.
Wednesday July 19 – Centennial Beach
Going into Grades 6-12 – 10am-3pm – meet
at church office
Bring
swimsuit, towel, lunch or $$, change of clothes, water, sunscreen and
activities for this day at the beach. Limited spaces available – sign up no
later than July 17. Parent drivers needed.
Monday July 24 – Games Night

Going into
Grades 8-12 – 9:30am-end time TBA (dinnertime-ish) – meet at church office
A day at the
waterslides! Bring swimsuit, towel, change of clothes, sunscreen, lunch and
dinner or $$ for meals and $32 admission fee. Limited spaces available – sign
up no later than July 24. Parent drivers needed (we will cover your admission
fee).
Friday July 28 – Dog Mountain Hike
Going into Grades 8-12 – 10am-3pm(ish) –
meet at church office
Join us for
this easy/moderate hike near Seymour – this trail is 5km round trip with a view
of Vancouver and the North Shore. Wear hiking footwear and bring lunch, water
and sunscreen. Limited spaces available – sign up no later than July 26. Parent
drivers needed.
Monday July 31 – Movie Night
Going into
Grades 6-12 – 7-9pm in the Youth Room
Join us for
a movie and popcorn! We will choose a movie together. Popcorn is free but we
will also run a concession where you can buy pop, chips and candy – proceeds go
to our sponsor child.
Wednesday August 2 – Fireworks at English
Bay
Going into
Grade 8-12 – 4pm-midnight-ish - Meet at Skytrain (arrangements made that week)
We are
heading downtown to grab dinner and head to English Bay to hang out before the
10pm show. Bring comfy shoes, $$ for dinner, swimsuit and towel (optional) and
something to sit on. Sign up no later than July 31 so we can make arrangements
for which station to meet at in advance.
Friday August 4 – Seawall Walk & La
Casa
Going into Grades 6-12 – 9:30am-3pm – meet at church office
Come walk
the Seawall with us and explore beautiful Stanley Park! After our walk we will
head to La Casa Gelato on the way home (238 flavours to choose from!). Bring
comfy shoes, sunscreen, water, lunch and $$ for ice cream. Limited spaces
available – sign up no later than August 2. Parent drivers needed (we will buy
you ice cream).
Friday August 11 – Backyard BBQ &
Firepit
Going into
Grades 6-12 – 6-9pm – meet at Jake & Angelika’s house (9483 114th Street,
North Delta)
Bring snacks
or dessert and a lawn chair and come hang out in the Hummelman’s big backyard!
Burgers and s’mores supplies provided.
Wednesday August 16 – Welcome BBQ for Kelly
Going into
Grade 6-12 – 6-9pm – Meet at Pastor Stef’s house (8995 Watson Court, North
Delta)
Bring a
salad or dessert, lawn chair (and optionally, swimsuit and towel for the hot
tub) and come get to know Kelly Madland, the interim Student Ministries
Director for this school year! Kelly will be running iConnect and Youth during
Amanda’s maternity leave. Please find a ride there or contact Connor if you
can’t find a ride.
Friday August 18 – Paintball
Going into
Grade 8-12 – 10am-3pm(ish) – meet at church office
We are
heading to Ambush Paintball in Surrey – admission (includes gear rental and 500
paintballs) is $60. We suggest bringing extra cash if you want to buy more
paintballs. Limited spaces available – sign up no later than August 16. Parent
drivers needed and are welcome to play too! Special waiver required – please
print from their website and either scan and email your form to Connor in
advance OR bring it with you that day – find it at ambushpaintball.com

Golden Ears Camping
